Paramore singer Hayley Williams has recently confirmed that the band have hired two musicians to replace Josh and Zac Farro for their upcoming South American tour. The brothers left the pop-punk band just before the New Year, choosing to leave a scathing blog post which heavily criticised their red-headed singer as they departed.
It has been revealed that Justin York will take over from Josh Farro as the band’s lead guitarist. York has extensive touring experience, having once been a member of successful Christian rock act Tait. Justin York should settle into the band dynamic nicely, helped largely by his being the brother of current guitarist Taylor York.
It has also been announced that A Perfect Circle and Vandals drummer Josh Freese will be replacing Zac Farro, however both Freese and York will only be joining to help the band through their South American tour, which kicks off in Brazil on February 16th. Hayley Williams was quick to point out their status as temporary replacements as she tweeted: “Neither Josh freese nor Justin York are joining as members, just helping us for the South American tour :)”
Despite the difficult split, it would appear that the three remaining members of Paramore are excited about writing and recording new material. Williams posted an upbeat message on Twitter when earlier this week she claimed that Taylor York had “sent me the 1st official demo for me to write lyrics to. And I am so hopeful and motivated for the future!!”
